Our two specialists, Frederic and Thierry are waiting for you for an once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Come and discover a breath taking scenery while practicing your favourite sport. COCO BIKE is also the possibility to discover trails riding from the age of 12 thanks to our skilful guides who will lead you safely and confidently on top-of-range full-suspension bikes.
We offer a variety of trails for everyone’s skills, the discovery of “les hauts” of Reunion Island mountains (literal translation: the heights) and the possibility to drive you to the summit of the Maïdo.

The Discovery Trail


It’s a half day expedition, 2-3 hours ride starting from the Maïdo (2 200 m high) down to Saint-Gilles les Bains. You will come upon unique and diverse types of vegetation: gorse forest, tamarin forest, prairie, sugar cane fields, and agaves amongst others.
This is an easy and wide trail, available for everyone. Bike and Protective gear are provided (bike, helmet and gloves) with the guide.

The Maxi Coco Trail


It’s a half day expedition. From the Maïdo, it starts on hard volcano ground (a bit tricky but a perfect warm up!), follows the single tracks through the tamarin forest, then down into prairies and sugar cane fields. The trail finishes in the dry savannah with an amazing vantage point on Saint Paul’s Bay.
This trail is more technical and the provided material is adapted: knee and chin pads, elbow pads, full face helmet, freeride bike. It is the perfect trail to taste downhill riding.

The Megavalanche Trail “hard-as-a-coconut head"


Difficult! It’s a half day expedition. You will ride down the trail of the famous Megavalanche contest. For experienced riders, the trail provides its fair share of sensations! It starts from the Maïdo and along the edge of Mafate cirque, then into single track in the tamarin forest, followed by prairie, sugar cane fields to finish in a rock trail down to Saint Paul’s famous watermill.
This trail is technical, challenging and provides sensations! A freeride bike is provided with protective gear (knee and chin pads, elbow pads, full face helmet).

Planning


Booking is required. There is a departure every morning depending on booking.
Meet up at 7.45 AM next to Saint-Gilles harbour opposite to Saint-Gilles famous bakerie “Case a Pain”.
Minimum of 4 persons per group. If you’re alone, you can join another group. During the expedition, you ride at your own rhythm and at the speed you’re comfortable with.
Bring a backpack, some water, raincoat, sun glasses, cereal bars, camera …
